Thermax has been selected for an energy saving project of Rashtriya Chemical and Fertilizer Ltd at its Trombay Fertilizer Complex in Mumbai. Rashtriya Chemical and Fertilizer Ltd is planning to reduce the energy consumption of its Ammonia and Urea units from 8.73 Gcal/MT to 8.40 Gcal/MT and 6.75 Gcal/MT to 6.45 Gcal/MT respectively in India. The capacity of the ammonia plant is 1045 MTPD and the urea capacity is 1000 MTPD. The equipment requirements are 2 nos of GTG with a capacity 25 MW (ISO Rating), 2 nos of HRSG with a capacity 65 TPH, Replacement of turbine for the Benfield Solution Pump in Ammonia with a new motor, De-aerator (2 nos.) with HP BFW Pump motor set 2 x (1+1), One PRDS system for 12 ata to 4.5 ata in the Ammonia plant, Modification in Power Distribution System. The proposal for a term of references has been granted for an environmental clearance.

RCF will be funded out of internal accruals/other Loans Rs.147 crore, over the project execution period of 24 months and as a part of the overall project. The balance amount equivalent to Rs.280 crore of the project cost will be met out of debt raised for the project. The Company intends to avail foreign currency loans as detailed below and the remaining portion of the debt the requirement may be funded at the option of Company through Rupee Terms Loans or any other option. It is a combination of LSTK and Non-LSTK contract. LSTK component being around Rs. 343.73 crore and the remaining Rs. 82.99 crore as Non-LSTK.The LSTK contractor is Thermax Ltd.
