National Thermal Power Corporation Limited along with BTG and ESP contractor BHEL is carrying out the construction activities in a 1600 MW (2x800 MW) Stage-1 greenfield super-critical thermal power plant at the Dongargaon village, situated in the Narsinghpur district of Madhya Pradesh. Elecon Engineering is undertaking the coal handling plant activities. Boiler light up for unit-1 (800 MW) is expected in the December 2018. Moreover, turbo-generator box up for the same unit is expected in the November 2018. Currently, the owner is in process of investigation to install a flue gas desulphurization unit (FGD). Further RFQs are expected soon. The project requirement are: absorber system, gas to gas heat exchanger, spray headers and nozzles, mist eliminators & washing, agitators, quenching spray system, slurry re-circulation pumps, oxidation blower, gypsum bleed pumps, limestone grinding system, limestone slurry pumps, vacuum belt filter system, auxiliary absorbent slurry pumps with drive motor, piping, valves, auxiliary absorbent tanks, limestone storage tank, limestone silos, process water storage and pumping system, booster fans, ducting, dampers along with supports, slurry piping along with associated valves, low height wet chimney, FGD control room, dozers, wet ball mills, bucket elevator, gypsum dehydration, piles, spray headers, cooling water tank, process water tank, emergency slurry tank, mobile crane (30 MT), crane (20 MT), among others.

National Thermal Power Corporation Limited has successfully commissioned one of the 800 MW units out of 1600 MW (2x800 MW) Stage-1 greenfield super-critical thermal power plant at the Dongargaon village, situated in the Narsinghpur district of Madhya Pradesh. The BTG and ESP contractor BHEL is carrying the balance works in unit-2 (800 MW). The project is getting affected due to slow progress in works of the civil contractor, Bridge & Roof Company Limited. Meanwhile, ISGEC Heavy Engineering Ltd has been selected as an EPC contractor for the FGD. The design and drawing of the two FGDs needed are under approval. Further bids are expected soon.

The project is getting affected due to slow progress in works of the civil contractor, Bridge & Roof Company Limited. Meanwhile, ISGEC Heavy Engineering Ltd has been selected as an EPC contractor for FGD in which BHEL, GE Power India, Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems India Pvt. Ltd and L&T were also bidders. Further bids are expected soon. The project requirement is steel pipes, earth moving equipment, pumps, tanks, booster fans, valves, among others.
