National Thermal Power Corporation Limited along with an EPC contractor BHEL is carrying out mechanical completion activities in the unit-3 (250 MW) of the 750 MW (3x250 MW) thermal power station situated in the Kokrajhar district of Assam. The project is getting delayed due to an inadequate deployment of the workforce by BHEL. BHEL has awarded the mechanical works for erection and commissioning of FGDs to Zillion Infraprojects. Further bids are expected soon.
10/04/2019 The EPC contractor BHEL has successfully charged up the last unit of capacity 250 MW of the 750 MW (3x250 MW) Bongaigaon thermal power project situated in the Kokrajhar district of Assam. However, the FGD contractor BHEL has run into a face-off over what are being called commercial issues with original equipment manufacturer Ducon for the supply of the three FGD equipment which is still awaited, thereby delaying the project. Further bids are expected soon. The boiler, turbine, and generator were supplied by BHEL, coal handling plant and ash handling plant by McNally Bharat Engineering Company Ltd, civil works by NBCC, water treatment plant by UEM India Ltd, cooling tower and chimney by Subhash Projects Marketing Limited.
20/01/2019 The EPC contractor BHEL is run into a face-off over what are called commercial issues with original equipment manufacturer Ducon for the supply of the three FGD equipment in the NTPC's 750 MW (3x250 MW) thermal power station situated in the Kokrajhar district of Assam. The FGD for the unit-1 is expected to complete by March 2019. Moreover, BHEL is carrying out mechanical completion activities in the unit-3, which is expected to get commission by February 2019, as of now. Further bids are expected soon. 19/06/2018 National Thermal Power Corporation Limited is going on with mechanical completion activities for a 750 MW (3x250 MW) greenfield thermal power project at the Kokrajhar district of Assam. BHEL is the EPC contractor. As of now, Unit-1 and Unit-2 (250 MW each) are in operation since April 2016 and July 2017 respectively. The Unit-3 (250 MW) is expected to get commissioned in September 2018. Moreover, erection activities are ongoing for the flue gas desulphurisation (FGD) in the Unit-1 and Unit-2. Further bids are expected soon.
