Surguja Power Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Adani Power Limited, along with consultant Grencindia Consulting Pvt Ltd, is carrying out the final EIA study activities for environment clearance of a greenfield 600 MW (150*4) project in the Surguja district, Chhatisgarh. The project is based on CFBC technology, using domestic coal and coal washery reject as a fuel. TOR has been granted on 1st April 2013 and after its expiry, extension of validity of TOR was granted. One season baseline data has been collected from March 2017 to May 2017 as the earlier baseline report which was more than 3 years old. The proponent is yet to apply for re-diversion of 29.09 ha of forest land for setting up of the project. Environment Clearance is likely to be elicited by next 5-6 months.
