National Thermal Power Corporation Limited plans to commission one of the 660 MW units till December 2018 out of its ongoing 1320 MW (2x660 MW) super-critical thermal power expansion project at its existing facility of 440MW at Tanda Thermal Power Station. The other unit is expected to be commissioned in mid-2019. Tender documents are now getting prepared for the implementation of an FGD. Further bids are expected soon. The project requirement are: absorber system, gas to gas heat exchanger, spray headers and nozzles, mist eliminators & washing, agitators, quenching spray system, slurry re-circulation pumps, oxidation blower, gypsum bleed pumps, limestone grinding system, limestone slurry pumps, vacuum belt filter system, auxiliary absorbent slurry pumps with drive motor, piping, valves, auxiliary absorbent tanks, limestone storage tank, limestone silos, process water storage and pumping system, booster fans, ducting, dampers along with supports, slurry piping along with associated valves, low height wet chimney, FGD control room, dozers, wet ball mills, bucket elevator, gypsum dehydration, piles, spray headers, cooling water tank, process water tank, emergency slurry tank, among others.

National Thermal Power Corporation Limited along with ESP contractor BHEL is carrying out erection works for the 1320 MW (2x660 MW) super-critical thermal power expansion project at its existing facility, where a 440MW plant was installed, at Tanda Thermal Power Station. 6 passes for the ESP have already been completed. Boiler hydro test has been completed for the 2x660 MW units. Piling works in the coal handling plant are in progress. Erection of pumps are in progress in the circulating water system. The FGD contractor GE Power India has started mobilization of heavy equipment for the FGD works. Boiler and its auxiliaries will be supplied by L&T, turbo-generator by Alstom, chimney by Gannon Dunkerley and Co. Ltd, coal handling plant and ash handling plant by L&T, DM plant by Driplex, Circulating Water Pumps by Kirloskar Brothers Limited, NDCTs by L&T, and civil works by Gannon Dunkerley and Co. Ltd. Further bids are expected soon.

The project has been put off due to delay in the possession of balance land for the power complex and ash dyke area. The FGD contractor GE Power India has started mobilization of heavy equipment for the FGD works. RCC works are under progress at the coal handling plant area. Grillage column completed in the NDCT for one of the 660 MW units. Boiler and its auxiliaries will be supplied by L&T, turbo-generator by Alstom, chimney by Gannon Dunkerley and Co. Ltd, coal handling plant and ash handling plant by L&T, DM plant by Driplex, Circulating Water Pumps by Kirloskar Brothers Limited, NDCTs by L&T, and civil works by Gannon Dunkerley and Co. Ltd. National Thermal Power Corporation Limited plans to commission a 660 MW UNit-V of the 1320 MW (2x660 MW) super-critical thermal power expansion project at its existing facility, where a 440MW plant was installed, at Tanda Thermal Power Station has been put off due to delay in the possession of balance land for the power complex and ash dyke area. Currently, the piling and casting work for installing the NDCT is going on. As of now, GE Power India Ltd has emerged as the L1 bidder for the FGD system for the entire complex, from among other contenders, BHEL, ISGEC, Mitsubishi, and L&T. Further bids are expected soon. The project requirement is mist eliminators & washing, agitators, quenching spray system, slurry re-circulation pumps, oxidation blower, gypsum bleed pumps, limestone grinding system, limestone slurry pumps, limestone storage tank, limestone silos, gypsum dehydration, piles, spray headers, among others.

NTPC is going on with construction and erection activities of boiler, turbine and offsite area of a super-critical thermal power expansion complex with a capacity of 1320 MW (2x660 MW) at its existing facility of 440MW at Tanda Thermal Power Station. Casting of cooling tower has been completed. The unit-5 (660 MW) is expected to be synchronized in late 2018 while the other unit will be at a later date. Tender specification preparation for an FGD is underway. Bid for an FGD package is expected soon.
