Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited is planning to install a new hydrogen-based residue up-gradation unit worked on Ebullated bed Hydrocracking technology with a capacity of 1.81 MMTPA in its existing Mumbai refinery. Currently, the project is in the planning stage and Engineers India Limited is appointed as a DFR consultant, This project is Phase-II of the Mumbai Refinery Expansion Project. This project can improve refinery profitability by maximizing distillate yields, reducing the production of Fuel oil and going for zero export naphtha production by using Hydrogen Based Bottoms Upgradation facilities.

RFQ for the surveying work is expected by November 2018.
