Chenab Valley Power Projects Private Limited, a joint venture of NHPC Limited, JKSPDC and PTC India Limited, is carrying out the contracting activities for the 560 MW (4*140 MW) Kwar Hydroelectric Power Station at Kwar in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir. CVPP has already floated the contract for civil works in August 2017 and Hydro-mechanical works in November 2017 which is open for the bidders to actively participate. The owner will now come out with an Electro-mechanical package soon.

Patel Engineering Ltd. has completed the mobilization of equipment at the site. Boring works for HRT and TRT are in progress. GMW, Texmaco, PSE Engineers, and Patel Engg. are the major contenders in price bids.LOA for HM works is expected by Q2 2023. Bid evaluation is in progress for the electro-mechanical works package. BHEL, GE, Voith, Antriz, and Alstom are the major contenders in the electro-mechanical works package. The EOT crane tender has been delayed. The preparation of the tender is in progress for sub-station works and its specification finalization is yet to be completed.
