West Bengal Power Development Corporation Limited (WBPDCL) along with EPC contractor BHEL is developing a 660 MW super-critical thermal power expansion complex at its existing facility of 1600 MW thermal power plant (2x300 + 2x500 MW) situated in the district Murshidabad, West Bengal. EPC contractor BHEL has supplied the SG, its auxiliary, and Turbine Generator units. BHEL was also selected as an EPC contractor for FGD. Civil works have been completed for BTG and ESP units. Erection and installation of BTG pressure parts and their auxiliary are in progress. Erection works of pressure parts have been delayed due to the slow mobilization of equipment at the site. MacawberBeekey Pvt. Ltd. is constructing AHP. CHP package contractor Bengal Tools and ThyssenKrupp is building a conveyor system and WagonTripler works. BHEL has selected RB electrical as a sub-contractor for the switchyard package. Bid evaluation is in progress for the absorber system works. Preparation of tender is in progress for the limestone and gypsum handling plant.
