Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Limited has carried out the detailed project report activities to set up a greenfield 460 MW (4x115 MW) Nakthan hydroelectric power project near village Nakthan in district Kullu of Himachal Pradesh. The project was stalled for over 2 years due to e-flows and the pending forest clearance for diversion of forest land. However EC and FC of the project has been approved. Meanwhile, the state PWD department has constructed the approach road. Rittiwik Projects has been selected as a contractor for the civil works package lot-1 and lot-2 package. Construction of the HRT tunnel has started and boring works are in progress for TRT. Preparation of tender is in progress for the hydro-mechanical works, its technical specification finalization works ha been delayed as the civil works contractors face some geological difficulties in boring works. Re-tendering specification has been finalized for HM works. Further bids are expected soon. Preparation of tender is in progress for the hydro-mechanical works, its technical specification was finalization works delayed as the civil works contractors face some geological difficulties in boring works.
