(RPPL) plans to develop a 1200 MW (3x300 + 2x150 MW) closed-loop pumped storage hydroelectric plant at Village Dhamapura & Kanur BK, Tehsil Chandgad, District Kolhapur, Maharashtra. The EIA/EMP report is being prepared by R.S Envirolonk Technologies Pvt. Ltd., with the Social Impact Assessment (SIA) has been completed. Stage 1 Forest Clearance (FC) has been granted, and Stage 2 is under process at the Divisional Forest Office (DFO). Aquagreen Engineering Management Pvt. Ltd. has prepared the Detailed Project Report (DPR), which has received Technical Economic Clearance (TEC) from the Central Electricity Authority (CEA). Geotechnical investigation and topographical works have been completed and approved by the Geological Survey of India (GSI). The hydrology report has been completed and it has received approval from the Central Water Commission (CWC). Aquagreen has also been selected as the Project Management Consultant (PMC). Construction of approach road is in progress. Further bids for the project are expected soon.
