Everain Global Services has prepared the Biodiversity Impact Assessment report. WAPCOS has prepared the DPR. Techno-Economic Clearance (TEC) has been approved by the CEA. Central Water Commission (CWC) has approved the hydrology report of the project. EIA / EMP and SIA report have been completed and it is yet to be approved by the concern authority. The owner has selected WAPCOS as a PMC. Preparation of the tender is in progress for the civil works package and its specification has been finalized. Further bids are expected soon. Project requirement is the major requirement will be three vertical Francis turbines, turbine-generator (alternator), station transformers, generator transformer, dumpers/loaders, excavators, TBM (tunnel boring machine), raise boring machine, unit auxiliary transformers (UAT), air compressor, digital governor, trash rack, main inlet valve (MIV), butterfly valve, non-return valve, radial gates, vertical lift gates, steel-lined penstock, EOT crane, transmission towers, power cables, monitor and monitor control unit, computerized control system, fireproofing system (Mulsifyer System, sprinkler system, etc), among others.

UJVN Limited is developing the 72 MW Tiuni–Plasu Hydroelectric Project on the River Tons in Uttarakhand’s Dehradun district. The hydrology study has been adopted, and the Environmental Impact Assessment and Environmental Management Plan, prepared by EQMS Global Pvt Ltd, incorporate the updated 2021–22 baseline. Everain Global Services has completed the Biodiversity Impact Assessment and Wildlife Management Plan, strengthening the project’s environmental foundation.Stage-I Forest Clearance is under appraisal by the Forest Advisory Committee, which reviewed the proposal in its June and September 2025 meetings. Environmental Clearance is also awaited. In parallel, UJVN has issued a tender for Civil, Hydro-Mechanical, and Electro-Mechanical works (Bid ID- 2025_UJVN_84881_1) valued at Rs 537.56 crore. The bid submission deadline now stands at 14 November 2025 following six extensions, signalling strong bidder interest. As per internal KPIs, overall physical progress is estimated between 4 and 8 percent and financial progress near 3 percent, pending final statutory approvals. Project financing is planned through institutional support from PFC, though specific sanction details remain undisclosed. Once environmental and forest clearances are secured, Tiuni–Plasu is expected to emerge as a key mid-sized addition to UJVN’s hydropower portfolio in the Tons river basin.
