Meghalaya Energy Corporation Limited has carried out the investigation process for the geological data for a 210 MW (3x70 MW) Stage-II greenfield hydroelectric project situated at the right bank of Trangblang village in the West Jaintia Hills district of Meghalaya. DPR for the same has been approved by the CEA. Earlier, the pre-DPR chapter has been approved by the CEA and CWC. A geotechnical investigation and topographical survey at the dam site have been completed and a report was accorded by GSI. EIA /EMP and SIA studies have been completed. The public hearing was completed at the site. The construction of the approach land to the dam site has been completed. The owner has selected WAPCOS as a PMC for the project. The hydrology report has been approved by CWC. The tender floated for the civil works and pre-bid meetings are about to conduct for the same. LOA for the same is expected by Q1 2023. Preparation of tender is in progress for the hydromechanical works and its technical specification is yet to be finalized. Further bids are expected soon.
