North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Ltd. (NEEPCO) plans to develop a 700 MW greenfield hydroelectric power project in Shi Yomi District, Arunachal Pradesh. The Detailed Project Report (DPR) has been prepared by WAPCOS, while R.S Envirolink has completed the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) reports. The Social Impact Assessment (SIA) report has also been finalized. Aquagreen Engineering Management Pvt. Ltd. has been appointed as the bid-level consultant. Environmental Clearance (EC) and Forest Clearance (FC) have been granted. A tender for the civil and Hydro-Mechanical (HM)(2025_NEEPC_233935_1) works has been floated and its financial bid has opened and Mosh VAraya Infrastructure Limited comes out as L1 and Vensar Constructions Company Limited (L2) , Patel Engineering Limited (L3), IRCON (L4) and Angelique International Limited (L5). IRCON has quoted 46.6% more than L1. LOA for the civil and HM package is yet to awarded. Pre-construction activities are in progress, with Subham Prefabs and Associates initiating the preliminary works. The preparation of the tender for Electro-Mechanical (EM) works is underway, and the specification finalization has been completed. The EM package tender is currently under the approval stage. However, drilling works at the site have yet to be commenced. Tender has been cancelled for drifting works (2025_NEEPC_235533_1) and its re-tendering is in progress. Tender has been floated for the civil works of water conductor system and power house complex (2025_NEEPC_236688_1) and its bid submission has been extended four times. Further bids are expected soon. The project requires various heavy machinery and equipment, including load-cum excavators, hydraulic excavators, jackhammers, water sprinkler machines, aggregate crushing plants, grouting pumps, needle vibrators, air-water jet blasters, drilling machines, DG sets, electric overhead traveling (EOT) cranes, mobile cranes, air compressors, tunnel boring machines (TBM), dozers, piles, spillway radial gates, hydraulic hoists, spillway stop logs, valves, nozzles, intake trash racks, fixed wheel gates, trash rack cleaning machines, penstocks, actuation systems, vertical Francis turbines, pumps, spiral casings, runner blades, guide vanes, oil pressure units, seals, generators and their control panels, guide bearings, protection relays, transformers, battery banks, SCADA systems, unit control boards, sensors, consoles, display panels, gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) and its auxiliaries, cables, and transmission lines, among others.
