North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Ltd. (NEEPCO) plans to develop a 280 MW (2*140 MW) greenfield hydroelectric power project in Hirong Village of Siang District, Arunachal Pradesh. The Detailed Project Report (DPR) has been prepared by Aquagreen Engineering Management Pvt. Ltd. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Government of Arunachal Pradesh and NEEPCO. The Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) report has been prepared by R.S. Envirolink. WAPCOS Ltd. has been selected as the lead consultant and Project Management Consultant (PMC). NEEPCO has selected Patel Engineering as contractor for civil and HM turnkey contract(2024_NEEPC_216656_1). Mobilization works are in progress. Tender for electro-mechanical works packages(2025_NEEPC_228155_1) has been floated and its suffers a 11th time bid extension. Bid for EM package will opened on 4th Nov. 2025. Rinya Yangfo Construction is construction the approach road upto the DAM site. Further bids are expected soon.
