NTPC plans to develop a 2400 MW (3x800 MW) thermal power expansion project at its existing 1600 MW (2x800 MW) thermal power complex located at villages Ramagundam, Kundanpalli, Ranapur, and surrounding areas in District Peddapalli, Telangana. EC has been granted. NTPC has selected BHEL as the EPC contractor for the main plant works, and the Letter of Award (LOA) has been issued to BHEL. Replacement of ACC works are in progress. The preparation of tenders for the Natural Draft Cooling Tower (NDCT) package is yet to commence, with further bids expected soon. The project will require various equipment and systems, including steam turbines, generators, pulverized boilers, water-cooled condensers, vacuum pumps, boiler feed pumps and their drives, feed pump motors, furnace systems, furnace chambers, bed media, fuel feed systems, air supply and distribution systems, soot blowing systems, electrostatic precipitators (ESP), chimneys, ash handling systems, water treatment plants, demineralization (DM) plants, firefighting systems, coal handling systems, cooling towers, air preheaters, heat exchangers, induced draft (ID) fans, forced draft (FD) fans, primary air (PA) fans, high-tension (HT) and low-tension (LT) motors, turbine oil purification systems, switchyard equipment, cranes, thermomechanically treated (TMT) steel, diesel generator (DG) sets, rolling shutters, fencing materials, downshop lead (DSL) cranes, carbon steel pipes, stacker cum reclaimers, wagon tipplers, piles, reinforced and structural steel, mild steel (MS) and electro-forged gratings, conveyor belts, side arm chargers, flue gas desulfurization (FGD) systems, selective catalytic reduction (SCR) systems, and other associated components.. The main plant package includes design, engineering, manufacture, supply, construction, erection, testing, and commissioning works for the main plant package based on single-point responsibility, completely covering the following activities and services in respect of Steam Generator, Steam Turbine Generator, Electrostatic Precipitator, NOx Control System, Flue Gas Desulphurization, Compressed air (instrument & service air) system, and air conditioning & ventilation system
